About Association of Taxation Technicians Singapore (ATTS)

Introduction

The Association of Taxation Technicians Singapore (ATTS) was incorporated under the auspices of the ICPAS in March 1995 for the taxation support staff. It is the only association here to offer a locally recognized and affordable qualification, in the demand to provide skilled taxation staff to assist management in corporate duties.

To stay ahead of changes in the Accountancy profession, aspiring students and accountancy professionals can specialize in taxation by studying for the Specialist Certificate in Taxation, awarded by the ATTS. This programme is recognized by ICPAS and will give you a strong foothold in your professional career in taxation.

Highlights of this dynamic, rewarding learning experience allow students to develop strong professional qualifications and critical understanding of the latest development in taxation.

Upon completion of the ATTS Specialist Certificate in Taxation and accumulation of relevant work experience, candidates are eligible for the Association for Taxation Technician (ATT) status.

Programme Objectives

1. To ensure the quality of the ATTS qualifications meet the requirements of Singapore Institute of Accredited Tax Professionals (SIATP) and Tax Academy of Singapore (TAS).
2. To equip candidates with comprehensive skills and knowledge on taxation that are highly sought after by businesses.
3. To raise and uphold the standards of ATTS by enhancing and upgrading the status of Tax Professionals in Singapore.
4. For ATTS to remain relevant by keeping up to date of current and future developments in the taxation field.
5. To elevate the status of the ATTS qualification so that graduates can enjoy greater industry recognition, leading to enhanced employability and career prospects.
6. To meet the high demands of the taxation profession.

Course Structure

Part-time classroom-based lectures
Courses are conducted by SAA Global Education (SAA-GE) twice a week, over a period of 4 months for each intake, unless otherwise stated.

Examination Structure

Registered students will be given 5 years from the date of registration to complete the ATTS qualification.
Students are required to achieve 75% class attendance in order to register for examinations.
Students can attempt up to a maximum of two modular examinations per examination session
The examination sessions will be held every June and December respectively.
There are two examination cycles per year:
Examination Session Membership Application Deadline
June 15 February
December 15 August
Students can attempt Modules 1, 2 and 3 in any order.
Students are required to pass Modules 1 and 2 before attempting Module 4.

Graduation and Recognition

Students who successfully complete the Specialist Certificate in Taxation will be awarded the certificate by ATTS. Graduates will be invited to attend the ATTS Tea Reception which held yearly to receive their certificate. Graduates are encouraged to attend the Tea Reception with their families and employers whenever possible.

Graduates of Specialist Certificate in Taxation are eligible to apply for the full membership of the ATTS and enjoy the following benefits:

Use of designatory letters "ATT" for ordinary members and "STT" for senior members.
Free monthly journal "CPA Singapore" from ICPAS.
Preferential member's to ICPAS Continuing Professional Education (CPE) programmes and ATTS forums
